Welcome to the site of three-time Israeli national figure skating champion in the ladies singles division, Tamar Katz. Tamar trains at the Boston Skating Club in Boston, MA with Peter Johansson and Mark Mitchell. She is the first lady to qualify a spot for Israel in ladies figure skating for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. ![]() December 29th, 2011 - Tamar took part in "Holiday Dreams on Ice" show in Philadelphia, PA. She skated new exhibition program to Adele's "Someone like you". Check photos and videos from this event. September 20th, 2010 - Tamar's brother, Ronen, was killed in hit-and-run. Our condolences to Katz family on their loss. August 29th, 2010 - Tamar had an interview with Israeli Sports Radio. Podcast to come! August 26th, 2010 - Tamar passed Senior Moves and the Junior Free US Figure Skating Tests. August 26th, 2010 - Tamar will be on the Andrew Reikes show in Boston, MA. August 15th, 2010 - Tamar passed her Junior Moves in the field USFSA test. June 18th, 2010 - Tamar will speak during non-denominational Kabbalat Shabbat service in Vilna Shul’s historic sanctuary. April 22nd, 2010 - Tamar has returned to Boston after a three week vacation in Israel. She has resumed training for next season with Mark Mitchell and Peter Johansson. March 29th, 2010 - Tamar finished 27th (among 53 participants) at World championships in Turin. February 22nd, 2010 - Coaching change for Tamar: she moved to the Skating Club of Boston to train with Peter Johansson and Mark Mitchell. February 9th, 2010 - More articles have been added to the "Articles" section. February 3rd, 2010 - Tamar Katz has been named to the Israeli World Team and will compete at the 2010 World Championships in Torino, Italy, March 22nd - 28th. February 2nd, 2010 - One more article was posted in "New York Times": "Australian Figure Skater Is Helped by Israel’s Rules". An Olympic qualifier, but not in the eyes of Israel January 30th, 2010 - Tamar just competed at the European Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn, Estonia where she placed 21st. January 7th, 2010 - Tamar skated in Hannukah Charity event which took place December 14th, 2009 at Bryant Park in New York City. December 24th, 2009 - Photos from Merano Cup 2009 in Italy were added to "Miscellaneous 2009/10" gallery. December 15st, 2009 - one more competition on the way to Europeans is over: Tamar was fifth in short and long programs and placed fifth overall at "Golden Spin" competition in Croatia. She is happy with her placement but feels that she needs to improve more for Europeans. You can see all the results and protocols of the competition here. December 1st, 2009 - Tamar will participate in Golden Spin competition in Zagreb, Croatia next weekend. We wish her to have a safe trip, to show good presentation and to improve the Italian results. November 18th, 2009 - Tamar did great at Italian competition: she was 4th in SP, LP and overall (check the results here). She improved her marks and feels that she skated much better than in Oberstdorf. Merano Cup was definitely a step in the right direction towards European Championships in January. November 10th, 2009 - Tamar will participate in Merano Cup 2009 in Italy which starts on November 12th. November 8th, 2009 - New photo albums were added: Practice session and SP/LP from Nebelhorn Trophy 2009 (thanks to Absolute Skating, Reut Golinsky and Anna Kondakova). October 15th, 2009 - Tamar will take part in Disson's Skating Halloween on Ice show this weekend. She will be playing the role of vampire. September 30th, 2009 - Tamar took part in Nebelhorn Trophy, Olympic Qualifying Competition in Oberstdorf, Germany, hold on September 24-27, 2009. She achieved her goal of qualifying an Olympic berth for Israel in the Ladies division for Vancouver. September 14th, 2009 - In the 84th Annual Middle Atlantic Tamar was second in short program and got 4th place in free skate. Congratulations! We wish her fruitful week of the last preparations to the Nebelhorn Trophy next week. September 11th, 2009 - Before her first international event in Oberstdorf in Germany in two weeks, Tamar participates in Middle Atlantic Figure Skating Championships in New York.
